Eat Your Taco Soup While I Command You to be Silent!

Good Beautiful Morning Everyone!

Yesterday was full of adventure and excitement! It was a cold but beautiful morning, and my English class full of insight and personal spiritual application. I think that's the extraordinary thing about this school; everything can be tied back to Christ and his gospel. I now have a beautiful hour break between my morning classes, because I dropped my Interior Design class. I found out that it wouldn't help me progress much towards my degree.

My Physical Geology class is just incredible! I think I've discovered I love the earth and rocks. Just coming to understand how this world works is amazing. Heavenly Father really made this place beautiful.

After my Geology class I was able to help really clean up the apartment. Every so often we have cleaning checks, this helps us feel motivated to not just pick up our stuff but actually scrub down the kitchen and bathroom a little more often. It was actually really nice to just clean, it felt good. Mom can you believe it? I actually like cleaning now, and having things clean!

My Mechanical Engineering 101 class is also pretty spectacular as well! I'm learning so much in that class, and I'm learning how I can do so much with my degree and all that I learn here in school will just help me be able to problem solve so much better in the real world. I like thinking like an engineer, it feels good to exercise and use that side of my brain.

During my hour and a half break before my Social Dance class, I had the AWESOME opportunity to talk with Sabrina! It was so good to hear from her, even though I talked most of the time (next time I'm going to be asking all the questions). It put me in the best mood right before my dance class. Which I love so much! Call me over confident or what you will, but I feel like I can dance pretty good. It's also nice when you can find one of the good guys to dance with. We've been learning the basics of the Foxtrot and Swing. Its one of the high lights of my week and is a huge stress reliever!

Right after my dance class, my roommates and I had invited all of our friends over for dinner. Chelsea made the most delicious Taco Soup for 13 people! After we had all eaten our fill, those of us who stuck around (which ended up only being 8 of us) played that game of Quelf!

The rules are pretty simple, Obey the Card (we of course discarded the cards that were not up to our standards.) It actually was so much fun to play with everyone we laughed so hard the whole time, and one of the cards in play said that when ever someone laughed I had to say, "I command you to be silent!" Which would send everyone into more fits of laughter. It was a fun and goodnight last night, and today had such a beautiful morning!

Oh Sometimes I Get a Good Feeling Yeah!

Today was a beautiful foggy morning. I say it was beautiful because it reminded me of home, while also like being in a dream. The air was cold enough to create little fog snow flurries. I also had a wonderful lesson in my Doctrine and Covenants class. I also was asked to play for class I Need Thee Every Hour. Our devotional today was also amazing I learned a lot!!! I needed all the speaker had to say. He spoke on the necessity to come follow Christ and to leave our "nets".

After the devotional I sat with my friend, Tanner, and waited at the tech department. It was fun getting to know him better. He's from Oregon, very much the mountain man. Tanner is an extremely talented individual; He plays the Ukelele, draws some of the most amazing character art pieces, sings beautifully, and has a love of movies and will constantly quote them with me!

Once I finally made my way back to my apartment complex I started my laundry and read "The Messiah". Which is an amazing book by the way you should all should read it!

Then I made my way to one of the huge buildings called the I-Center which is home to our huge "conference center". Our stake was asked to help clean the building this Tuesday night. It was pretty fun to serve the school! However I will say it was hilariously awkward when the adults in charge said they were trying to set us up with one another. I was partnered up with one of my FHE brothers thankfully. He was fun to get to know too, his name was Justin.

Today started out beautifully and has ended beautiful as well! I loved how much I was able to feel the good feelings of the spirit and my Heavenly Fathers love for me. I hope you all wake to a beautiful morning tomorrow! Goodnight.

Welcome to BYU Idaho!

Hello Everyone!

Sorry about not posting anything yet! My internet was having issues and of course life's been crazy since it's the first week of school.

My get connected experience, or the introductory tour and activities, was so much fun! We did all sorts of funny games and activities to get us pumped. I also met some of my best friends through my get connected group.

My Get Connected I-Team

My closest friends up here are my roommates Chelsea, Cassandra...

Me, Cassandra, and Chelsea

... and our neighbor (who plans on being our roommate next semester) Alysha. Then there are all our close guy friends: Daniel, Tanner, Morgan, Kevin, Tyler, and Josh. Our most common pass time is watching movies, and discussing them very loudly while watching them. Or going out and about to random activities, we pretty much spend at least an hour everyday with each other.

My Friends: Cause, Yes, I do Have Friends!

AND GUESS WHO I RAN INTO!!! Elder Jacob Cheadle. We were able to hang out for a little bit and catch up. It was so much fun to hang out with him, and be able to finally give him a hug! He was so awesome to have in our ward.

Jacob and I

My first week of school went super well! I love all of the classes here, they all start with a prayer and my Geology and English teachers love to pull the gospel into everything. I'm also taking a D&C class, a Mechanical Engineering class, and an Interior Design class. Its incredible here! I've also been able to serve as an Usher for the Devotionals we have every Tuesday, its such a pleasure and I feel so spiritually uplifted.

Good-bye to the Garden of Eden

This last month as I've been getting ready to leave, it's finally dawned on me just how beautiful the central coast is. Not only just how beautiful it is but also how it's tranquil, peaceful, and SLOw. It's like the garden of Eden! The worst thing that could happen here for a natural disaster is an earthquake, or running over one of the many deer (OK I'll admit, we do have one or two poisonous critters that call all of California their home). I've loved living here, and I wish I could have appreciated better the perfect conditions I have been raised in. Now I have to be like Adam and Eve, and finally leave the garden to experience life for myself.

 My Garden of Eden

We are leaving tomorrow morning for Utah to visit family, so I unlike Adam and Eve get a special stop between Eden and the rest of the World. I'm pretty excited to see my aunt, uncle, and cousins. I'll keep you posted about more of my adventures on the way to the frozen tundra of Rexburg.
